    Janelle Monae

I really hate a good 99% of music now days. Miss Monae, is an exception. Metropolis and ArchAndroid are both really fantastic albums, highly recommended.

    Some of my faves.

    Some terrific covers as well.

Of course, the song she's most well known for.

Amen! I'm glad I got into her, the only thing she lacks is a strong chart position or seven. She's the only current mainstream artist I really care about at the moment.

Whatever happened to those two new albums she was supposed to be releasing this year? The instrumental version of The ArchAndroid and the new studio album?

Love love love love her. I can't say I've listened to her albums lately, but I have both on my ipod and they're always good for a spin! Plus her style is just amazing. She's a really good rolemodel!

When I first saw her music video Many Moons she blew me away. My favorite song of hers is Many Moons with Come Alive as a close second. I saw her performance of Come Alive at Glastonbury and it was really impressive how she held that note live.

I too wonder where those two albums are. She did present those two new tracks during some of her live performances.

^^Wow, did you see her live? I'm envious!

Btw, I want to share this Janelle's interview. It's so beautiful that I can't help but wish MJ could have done one like this.

According to September's Vanity Fair, she will soon be releasing a new single, "Electric Lady" (which I believe is on YouTube already) from an album entitled The Electric Lady.

So usually when I introduce myself to an album I'll eventually love the first few runs of the album don't make me love it. I've loved albums when I first hear them, but then they get worse and worse as I listen more. I should have realized the same thing was happening with The ArchAndroid album. I listened to the songs Suite II, Suite III, Dance or Die, Faster, Locked Inside, Tightrope, Wondaland, Make the Bus, Come Alive, and BaBopBye Ya without giving the other stuff a thought because I hadn't clicked with them. So now I just listened to the full album again and I've found a new love for the Mushrooms and Roses, Neon Valley Street, Neon Gumbo, and Oh, Maker. Sir Greendown, Say You'll Go, and 57821 are pretty good too. Now I just really love the whole album.

Can't wait for the new album!
