Doubt it did less than 200k in the U.S., if that much?

I think Bad25 did that badly - 200k and with a prime airing of an edited doco too. OTW probably did less than that in the USA.
"Because we do not know when we will die, we get to think of life as an inexhaustible well. Yet everything happens a certain number of times, and a very small number, really. How many more times will you remember a certain afternoon of your childhood, some afternoon that is so deeply a part of your being that you can't even concieve of your life without it? Perhaps four or five times more. Perhaps not even that. How many times will you watch the full moon rise? Perhaps twenty. And yet it all seems limitless." - Brandon Lee

I just wonder when the estate will realize reissues are not those that sell huge numbers?

I think they have. Hence them giving us basically nothing with OTW.

Yeah, I doubt we will see anything major for the Dangerous and HIStory anniversaries, if anything at all.

just came across this news from 2010:

Already in store is a another reissue of Jackson's solo debut, 1979's Off the Wall, due next year, with a variety of new, exclusive material. A special edition of that album was re-released in 2001 with a pair of unreleased demos of the songs "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough" and "Workin' Day and Night."

"The stuff we have in the vaults around that record is fascinating and remarkable," Stringer said. "We're going to build a whole platform with a documentary. The outtakes are fantastic! We have a lot of great stuff from around every time period [in Jackson's career]. We're plowing through everything now to understand what we've got."

I'm glad that the execs have decided not to release those OTW outtakes in favour of the chalk. They've made the right decision, the chalk satisfies the fans more than any unreleased song.

^Haha yeah I saw that before. The chalk was definitely the better choice, now fans are allowed to express their creativity all over the packaging

And yet the estate insists that there weren't many demos from that time?

    Bull.

Yeah, they clearly just wanted to throw it out to make a quick buck. So much so that they didn't even want to spend the no effort it would have taken to throw some demos on.

I wouldn't necessarily jump to trusting Stringer TBH. Michael was constantly touring during the time of OTW, recording with his brothers as well, and it's hardly as if much OTW era stuff has leaked down the years, as has been the case with other eras. If there were loads and loads of outtakes, I also doubt Michael would've only effectively contributed two and a half tracks to a 10-track album.
